The Fellowship in Obstetric & Gynaecological Ultrasound at Addon Academy is a structured clinical training program designed to help doctors develop and refine their ultrasound skills through a combination of academic teaching, hands-on scanning, image interpretation, reporting and clinical correlation.

The program emphasises systematic scanning techniques, recognition of normal and abnormal findings  and the application of ultrasound in clinical decision-making.

The fellowship is intended for qualified medical doctors- including Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Radiologists

Immediate Postgraduate trainees, early-career consultants, and other eligible clinicians seeking to develop or advance their obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound skills.

add-on Academy offers four training pathways to accommodate different levels of experience and learning goals:

* 15-Day Basic Fellowship: Focused foundational training in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound.
* 1-Month Basic Fellowship: Structured foundational learning with extended practical exposure and academic teaching.
* 1-Month Advanced Fellowship: Advanced ultrasound training for doctors with previous exposure to ultrasound.
* 3-Month Comprehensive Fellowship: An extended training program designed to provide broader practical exposure, structured academics and progressive learning in obstetric ultrasound and fetal imaging.

Doctors are encouraged to choose a program based on their current skill level and the depth of training they wish to pursue.

Hands-on learning is an important component of the fellowship at Addon Academy.

Depending on the program, training includes supervised scanning, practical demonstrations, live patient-based learning, post-scan review, case discussions, image interpretation and reporting.

The emphasis is on understanding the scanning approach, recognising anatomical landmarks, correlating ultrasound findings with clinical information, and developing a systematic approach to examination. The extent of practical exposure varies according to the fellowship duration and level.

The curriculum is tailored to the level and duration of the chosen program. Training may cover:

* First-trimester assessment and fetal screening
* Fetal biometry and growth assessment
* Systematic fetal anatomical assessment and anomaly recognition
* Placental, amniotic fluid and umbilical cord assessment
* Doppler assessment and its clinical applications
* Image interpretation, reporting, and clinical correlation
* Case-based discussions and clinical decision-making

Advanced programs offer greater exposure to complex fetal imaging and selected areas relevant to fetal medicine.

The Basic Fellowship focuses on establishing a strong foundation in routine obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound. It is suitable for doctors who are beginning their ultrasound journey or wish to strengthen their fundamentals.

The Advanced Fellowship is intended for doctors with prior ultrasound exposure who wish to refine their scanning skills, improve their recognition of fetal abnormalities and develop a more systematic approach to advanced fetal assessment.

The choice should be based on your existing competence rather than duration alone. If you are unsure which program is appropriate, the Academy can guide you.

For doctors starting their ultrasound training, add-on Academy offers two foundational options:

* 15-Day Basic Fellowship: Suitable for focused, short-duration introductory training.
* 1-Month Basic Fellowship: Suitable for doctors seeking a longer period of structured academic teaching and practical exposure.

The one-month option allows more time for repeated scanning, case discussions, and reinforcement of concepts. Your choice should depend on your availability, previous experience, and learning goals.

All fellowship programs at add-on Academy are conducted on-site, with an emphasis on practical learning and supervised hands-on scanning.

Fellows benefit from live patient-based learning, practical scanning sessions under faculty supervision, post-scan reviews, image interpretation, case discussions and structured academic teaching. This approach helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application in clinical settings.

The on-site format encourages active participation, direct interaction with faculty, and progressive development of ultrasound skills in a clinical learning environment.

add-on Academy awards an institutional certificate of completion to fellows who fulfil the prescribed course requirements.

The Academy also supports and trains eligible fellows in working towards the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF), UK, Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification, in accordance with the applicable FMF guidelines.

FMF (UK) NT certification is a separate certification process governed by FMF’s own eligibility criteria, assessment requirements, and approval procedures. Completion of a fellowship at Addon Academy does not automatically confer FMF certification.

Fellows are guided regarding the relevant training requirements and the steps involved in pursuing FMF (UK) NT certification
